TECHNICAL DIVING COURSES CATALOGUE

PADI TEC 40

PADI Tec 40 is the first part of the PADI TecRec Deep Diver program. Available in our dive destinations with Tec Camp, this course introduces you to limited decompression scuba diving without exceeding recreational dive table depth limits.

The course derives its name from the fact that you will experience decompression dives at the 40 meters/130 feet limit of the recreational tables without exceeding it.

The course equipment requirements only impose a few add-on’s to your standard scuba equipment allowing you to enjoy this level of diving with little extra investment in equipment. There is also no need to acquire complete specialized diving gear at this point unless you plan in any case to continue all the way to Tec 45 and 50.

Note: Bring Medical Statement signed by a physicians. This statement should not be older 12 months.

Prerequisites Be at least 18 years old, a PADI Advanced Diver, a PADI Deep Diver , a PADI Enriched Air certified (or equivalent from any other certifying agency or federation) and have minimum 30 logged dives of which  at least 10 to 100 feet / 30 meters and  10 to 60 feet /18 meters with enriched air nitrox.

PADI TEC 45

PADI Tec 45 is the second part of the PADI TecRec Deep Diver program. Available in our dive destinations with Tec Camp, this course is an intermediary certification, on your way to PADI Tec 50, that qualifies you to make limited decompression dives slightly beyond recreational depth limits.

You will learn how to plan and execute repetitive decompression dives using a single stage/decompression cylinder. You will experience accelerated decompression dives using EANx or pure oxygen and backmount or sidemount equipment configurations.

The course derives its name from the fact that you learn the above decompression techniques to progress to 45 meters/145 feet.

Note: Bring Medical Statement signed by a physician. This statement should not be older 12 months.

Prerequisites Be at least 18 years old, a PADI Rescue Diver, a PADI Tec 40 Diver (or equivalent from any other certifying agency or federation) and have minimum 50 logged dives, of which at least 10 to 100 feet /30 meters and 12 with enriched air nitrox deeper than 60 feet/18 meters.

PADI TEC 50

PADI Tec 50 is the third part of the PADI TecRec Deep Diver program. Available in our dive destinations with Tec Camp, the Tec 50 course is the course you were building towards with the previous two tec levels!

It´s time to learn how to make extended, accelerated decompression stops with use of up to two different gases opening the possibility to deeper diving adventures. You will learn the entry-level skill to enjoy open circuit deep decompression diving.

You finish the program fully qualified but within the limits of your training and equipment, to do decompression diving. The course derives its name from the fact that you learn the above decompression techniques to progress to 50 meters/165 feet.

Note: Bring Medical Statement signed by a physicians. This statement should not be older 12 months.

Prerequisites: Be at least 18 years old, a PADI Tec 45 Diver (or equivalent from any other certifying agency or federation) and have minimum 100 logged dives, of which at least 15 to 60 feet /18 meters and 20 with enriched air nitrox deeper than 60 feet /18 meters.

PADI TECHNICAL SIDEMOUNT

Give your back a rest from carrying the cylinder with our PADI Tec Sidemount Diver Course. Dressel Divers, a few of its select dive destinations, offers the Sidemount Course to give you the opportunity to discover a new dive equipment configuration that is becoming ever more popular.

Sidemount diving with its different approach to scuba gear configuration affords divers a constant view on all their valves and first stages for easier management of these and is a great alternative to carrying heavy, back-mounted double tanks. Sidemount diving since time is very popular with cave divers, deep exploration divers, and extended range divers and is not a new concept but is now spreading fast to recreational open water diving and technical diving proper.

In technical diving the divers always use several tanks. Sidemount is growing in popularity because it allows you to configure these many cylinders in optimal way. So if you are doing one or all of the Tec 40, 45 or 50 courses, this course can be integrated with them because it is the perfect add on to the PADI Technical Deep Program.

You will learn how to set up a sidemount harness and also all about the advantages of diving with it.  The Sidemount Diver course consists of on confined water session and four open water training dives.  During these dives you progress from two cylinders to at least four in total, perhaps even to as many as six tanks.

Prerequisites Be at least 18 years old, a PADI Advanced Diver (or equivalent from any other certifying agency or federation) and have minimum 30 logged dives. (Recommended: PADI Enriched Air Diver certification).

PADI TECHNCAL GAS BLENDER

Want to become a PADI Tec Gas Blender? Dressel Divers, in its Technical destination offers theTec Gas Blender Course for those that want to be qualified to properly provide certified divers with tanks of mixed gases.

Our Gas Blender program will qualify you as a fully recognized DSAT Gas Blender by teaching you the physical properties of oxygen, how to safely handle it and the five ways of producing enriched air nitrox mixes with it.

You will learn the proper techniques required to create correct helium mixes. The Gas Blender course includes practical classroom sessions, but no open water diving. Participants learn how to blend enriched air nitrox and helium-gases using one or more blending methods and about their advantages and disadvantages.

You also learn how to mix enriched air and trimix to within one percent of the target mix. The potential hazards and correct management techniques related to oxygen handling, including the requirements for oxygen service are also covered.

Prerequisites Be at least 18 years old and a PADI Enriched Air Diver (or equivalent from any other certifying agency or federation).

PADI REBREATHER DIVER COURSE

Diving with a rebreather is very attractive proposition because it allows you to really extend your bottom time and reduce your gas consumption. As you can guess from the name instead of blowing out your air in the form of bubbles you recycle or reuse it.

As you no longer exhale bubbles into the surroundings you become one with the silent environment. Like the marine wildlife itself you will not emit bubbles and so will be much more like them and enjoy very close encounters.

Rebreather diving is ever more popular and more accessible to all divers. Once considered only for technical divers, it is now available a the recreational level also. Rebreather technology has evolved tremendously to be much lightweight and easier to transport. Moreover sophisticated electronics make them much more user friendly, and simple to use for everyone interested.

The PADI Rebreather Diver Course will introduce you to the world of rebreather diving with a limit of 18 metres / 60 feet. It is a great way to start diving with a rebreather and you will experience the ocean in a much more intense way to what you are used to.

Prerequisites Be at least 18 years old, be a PADI Open Water Diver with minimum of 25 logged dives, PADI Enriched Air Diver (or equivalents from any other certifying agency or federation).

Prerequisites Be at least 18 years old, a PADI Advanced Diver (or equivalent from any other certifying agency or federation) and have minimum 30 logged dives. (Recommended: PADI Enriched Air Diver certification).
