Víctor Cordoba, Training & Quality Management Director , explains:

I started to work with Dressel Divers in 1999.
At the time I was already en SSI Trainer Instructor ( Dressel at that time worked with SSI ), and had vast experience as military diver and professional diver in submarine construction, Also had I run several dive centres, including one of my own for a few years.
When I arrived in Mexico, I rapidly identified myself with the company’s philosophy of a safe and serious work environment, but at the same time I realized, that, although I already was quite an experienced dive professional, there was still so much for me to learn.

After a month and a half, I was offered the position of base leader, and shortly after that I got a change to start up our excursions department with dive trips to the nearby Cozumel Island and the Cenotes caverns in the Playa del Carmen area. I consider that as one of the best experiences of my professional life.
I had the opportunity to do cave dive courses with some of the most experienced cave explorers in the world, something I became very passionate about. In my free time I still do a lot of cave ding and also teach it to others.

The company had even more for me in mind though, and offered me to start up the instructors training department.
That was a dream come true. I am lucky and proud top say that I formed over a 100 PADI Instructors to work with Dressel Divers within our candidate program that was initiated up by the owner himself.

It is thanks to his pioneer vision of investing in training, both financially as well as on a human resources level, that I have this dream job.

Fortunately, anything that I might need in order to improve our courses, we get.
This means that I get to input all the time and dedication that I find necessary, and that I have at my disposition the necessary boats, staff, materials etc. in order to offer the best courses in the dive business, something which I am particularly proud of.

These last couple of years, besides teaching the Instructor course, the company’s owner, Javier Ibran, also asked me to take charge of quality control. This means that I dive with our instructors on their daily dives, verifying standards, and most of all to offer continuous training.

This has been a unique opportunity in the diving business, where few companies understand the importance of investing in quality control. I don’t know of any other large dive company that has a Course Director that is dedicated
full time to this most important job.

Nat Wilson, Course Director and Base Leader, explains:

¨While on vacation in June 2000 at the Iberostar Cozumel I was first introduced to Dressel Divers. I was very impressed with the safety and control that the Instructors had and instilled. I was never used to seeing that. In fact it was the first time in 15 years that I had someone else checking over my equipment. Then and there I thought that this would be a great company to work for. So I talked to a few of the instructors and other staff and found out through them that I could become an Instructor right here in Mexico.
Once at home back in hot and waterless Arizona I began the process of selling a few things and just getting myself ready for a new adventure and turning a new page in my life, who knew that the page was going to change me forever.. .
Upon arrival here in Mexico I was greeted at the Iberostar Tucan by the staff and Instructors with a lot of enthusiasm. After our candidate orientation we began with the rigorous and exhilarating training course.
They prepared us from day one on becoming instructors. The course was a lot of fun and well worth every penny. Soon after this the company asked if I wanted to do the Cave Diver course to become one of the few Cenote Guides that they employed. I jumped on it. To teach and dive, and to get to go to the Cenotes several times a week, wow. I just kept getting better.
Dressel Divers has given me many opportunities. I became Base Leader several years ago, and I am also a Course Director now. It’s a pleasure taking part in forming new PADI Instructors, who will be able to fulfil their dream like I did .¨
