Booked three dives with Dressel Divers Playa del Carmen for our family vacation in March. I was able to book online with the company in Spain and received a 20% discount for booking early.
The local Dressel Divers shop started communicating with me a soon as we got to our resort via WhatsApp, arranging for our complimentary pick-up at our hotel and the dives we would participate in. Once at the Dressel Divers location at the Iberostar Tucan we got to meet the staff that would be leading our dives, Marcello, Juan and Rob. All three were were outstanding and ensured we had a great experience.
The highlight was our third dive where we dove with Bull Sharks! Mid-March is the end of the season so there were only a few sharks but if you are able to come in February it would be an even better experience.

I’ve done a lot of diving with Dressel all over the Caribbean, but my latest trip to Playa del Carmen (Iberostar Tucan) was one of the best. The base staff (Marcelo & Javier) were welcoming and very accommodating.
The dive masters and guides take excellent care of all. Easy going and show a true enthusiasm for what they do. Shout out to Juan for an epic dive at the Mama Viña wreck with the palometas. Thanks to Rodrigo for finding me the bull shark out of season. And also thanks to Noelia & Timo for just being generally awesome.

Diving with bull sharks.
I tried twice to see the bull sharks and while we did, even though it was early in the season. Twice Jakub made sure we found the right spot to see the bull sharks.
On the first dive (Nov 11) only short, but on the second dive (Nov 16) quite long and there were three, of which two big females, clearly pregnant.
The sharks passed by several times close and I really enjoyed the dive.
The loggerhead turtle at the end of the dive was a bonus!
Dressel is consciously not feeding the bull sharks, which allows nature to take it’s course and still allows us to see these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat
